Spring brings busy times

Well, first off on Sunday, April 29th, we were at

Matt's for dinner and Steve got a piece of

chicken stuck in his esophagus.

On Monday it was still stuck so we went to the

emergency room in eagle and they sent

us to the main hospital.

There we saw the gastroenterologist who performed

an endoscopy to retrieve the chicken.  

While he was at it he dilated the esophagus which

had narrowed quite a bit with fibroid fibers 

and is probably why Steve has problems 

getting food stuck.  Hopefully this will help...

so far it seems to have done the trick !

On Tuesday we did a little gardening.

We planted some Walla Walla Sweet Onions 

and Steve tried planting radishes that we bought

already laid out in a paper strip.

They are already coming up so I guess it works!

We also planted a couple of Tomato plants, peppers,

red potatoes, cabbage and lettuce.

And of course we already have our Strawberries and Raspberries.

Cora will be blessed in June and Jetta turns eight in

July so I started sewing.

1st on Jetta's baptism dress then Cora's blessing dress...

With the Boise Temple being closed for renovations,

We decided to go to the temple in Twin Falls on Tuesday. 

We invited the Parkers to join us.

After the session we drove over to see

the Shoshone Falls which are

just a few minutes from the Temple.

They are always beautiful this time of year.

On Wednesday Steve says to me...

"do you want to go to Albuquerque tomorrow?"

and I said "sure".

We flew on United to Denver and then

to Albuquerque arriving at 6 p.m.

The last session of the day is at 7 p.m. so we had to

hurry right along.

We rented our car, checked in to our hotel, 

quickly changed our clothes and off we went to the temple,

which, of course, is on the opposite end

of town from our Hotel. 

We made it, with time to spare....well, a couple 

of minutes anyway.  As you can see it was

daylight when we arrived so we snapped a quick picture

before going inside.

After the session we were able to talk to a few of the 

Brothers and Sisters that were working that night.

They couldn't believe we came all that way just to see the

Temple, so they gave us a little tour.

It is a beautiful Temple and ladies, their Brides room is

one of the prettiest ones I've seen with

beautiful stained glass windows that paint rainbows

in the room during the afternoon and a floor to ceiling 

three panel mirror.

We generally like to take a picture standing by the

Temple Sign, but due to construction on the

road where the sign "used to be" 

there was no sign to stand by....so sad!

Our trip home was very frustrating with 

overbooked flights that we couldn't get on, but in the end we

made it back to Boise, via United to Los Angeles  

and Delta to Salt Lake and Boise, at 11 p.m.

For those of you that are familiar with LAX, we got

very well acquainted with "the tunnel"

which gave us our walking time for the day!

Even though the trip down and back were long and

frustrating, our time at the temple was wonderful and we

are still glad we went...Love visiting the Temples!
