Gardening in California

On Monday the 21st we hopped on a plane

to Ontario, via Salt Lake, and

spent a few days with Mom.

The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed several 

days of working outside in her yard.

First Mom, Steve & I went shopping....fun....for all the plants

potting soil etc. that we would need to

fix things the way mom wanted.

I painted her little garden girl

and purple flowers?

We dumped all the old flowers and planted new ones

in all her pots.  We also bought new flowers for her hanging

baskets and moved some of them around.

Mom has had a string trellis for a few years but

just never got it hung.  So Steve took on

the challenge. 

 She has a picture of

a trellis of Sweet Peas all in bloom in her mind

so now she is one step closer to realizing

that picture right in her own front yard...

sure hope the flowers grow !

While Steve and I were busy working, so

was mom...I think we wore her out...

She kept busy supervising our projects and

trimming the old blooms off her geraniums.

We replaced the batteries in some of her solar lights 

and rearranged the lights to better light up the

sidewalk to her front door.

New Marigolds around her Hibiscus brightened

up this corner by her garage.

We also did a few little projects inside but I

fell down on the Picture Taking job so

there are no pictures of those projects.

On Thursday Jim and Melody came over and we

had a chance to visit and take a couple of

pictures with mom.

It's good to be with family...

Thanks Jim for spending some time with us.

We left for home on Friday morning and even

though ALL the flights looked really bad

and we were sure we would never make it home

we did !  

It was a wonderful week...Thanks everyone 

for making our trip so nice.
