Boise Temple Renovation

About ten months ago the Boise Temple was
closed for major renovations.

I don't know all the details but I know they
completely gutted the inside and
took it right down to the dirt floor.

The Cornerstone was shipped to SLC for
safe keeping and will be returned when the
temple renovation is completed.

All the furniture and fixtures went into big dumpsters
and were hauled away.
As part of the renovation, they are doing away
with the cafeteria and clothing rental.
I'm not sure about all the clothing, but the dresses
were given to Deseret Industries and
sold for $5.00 each.
(too bad we were still on our mission when they did this)

Saturday we decided to go by the temple and snap a few
pictures just to help us remember
what the temple looked like during the remodel.

The renovation was supposed to have been
completed by late summer or possibly
early fall 2012, however that time
frame has been extended.

With the installation of a new Angel Moroni
we all believed the temple was coming along nicely and
would soon be rededicated.
Then one day we drove by and they were
taking all the beautiful tile off the outside of the Temple.
It seems somewhere along the way mold was discovered
under those exterior tiles so off they came
in bits and pieces.

We don't know yet what the new exterior will look
like but we are anxiously awaiting them to
begin putting the new tile on.

Judging by this picture it looks like they are ready
to begin any day now.

We will be glad when the renovation is done and
can once again be blessed with a
Temple in the Boise Valley

We are also excited and anxious to hear more
details on the new Meridian, Idaho Temple.
For now all we know is the location.
It is just a few miles from our house and
in our Stake...can you believe that?

What a blessing for us!
