Post Surgery Activities

We left for home on the Saturday
after my my surgery.
On the way we drove up to the Ogden Temple Site
to see how the construction was
coming along.

Somehow, we thought since the Angel Moroni
had been put in place that the temple was
almost finished, but as you can see they still have
a long way to go.

After arriving home we were able to
harvest a few things from our garden.
ummm, ummm, good!

The tomatoes are growing in abundance
and we (and others) are enjoying
their delicious, fresh-off-the-vine, flavor!

On Monday, August 26th, we flew back to
Salt Lake so we would be there
for an early Tuesday morning follow-up
appointment with my surgeon.

We stayed with Kevin Monday night and
witnessed this beautiful sunset from
their front yard.

Early Tuesday morning Lani drove us to
my appointment.

The doctor removed the packing and it
was just as I had imagined it would be....
Ahhhhhh.....I can hear again!
Of course there was still packing behind
the eardrum (which would dissolve) so my hearing
wasn't perfect yet, but it was waaaaay better!
The doctor said everything looked good.   He
did a couple of test that indicated my
hearing should be totally intact and reassured me that
the, often affected, nerves of feeling and taste had
not been damaged and should be fine after the
effects of trauma wear off.

We left the University of Utah and went directly to
the Airport where we caught a flight to
Houston and then to Killeen, Texas.
