We arrived at Trudi's
Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 27th. It was the first
time we had seen George since his return from
deployment.
Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 27th. It was the first
time we had seen George since his return from
deployment.
Wyatt and George the night
he returned home.
We had a couple of days with the
girls before Trudi, George & Wyatt left
for California
Then on Thursday Afternoon they left for Dallas....
The little girls had
no idea what was going on and....
Wyatt was soooo excited he could hardly
contain himself and was in the car
and ready to go before anyone else!
On Thursday night
Charlotte & Cora got ready for their
first night alone with grandma and grandpa and....
without mommy & daddy
On Friday we played and just had a good time
together.....Cora knew exactly which
cupboards had child locks and which ones didn't!
On Saturday Charlotte and Grandma baked
Debbi's famous chocolate chip cookies!
add the ingredients...
crack the eggs....pick out the egg shells....
mix it all up.....
lick the beaters....
watch them bake....
let them cool....then EAT THEM.....YUM!
During the first few days we noticed Charlotte
liked to go outside, take off her clothes
and......
sit in the dogs water bowl
(and Cora kept trying to drink out of it...ewe)
So on Saturday we went to Walmart and bought
this little pool.
we even tried putting the little slide in
and Charlotte, after one time, got out and said...
again....again....again.....
Cora liked splashing and tried to get a drink while
grandpa was adding more water.
In the end the girls liked the little pool....
played in it everyday....
and left the dogs water bowl alone....(mostly)
Mission accomplished!
Over the next several days we had
a good time doing lots of
stuff.....like.....
relaxing before bedtime....
watching Mickey's Clubhouse, Doc McStuffin's,
Sofia the First and other
spine tingling, adventurous TV shows....
going for evening swims after the girls were in bed.....
going on walks to pick up the mail....
receiving a fun post card from
Disneyland....
Playing at Zoomerang....
in the toddler yard and.....
in the big houses.....
The toddler yard seemed pretty big to Cora....
more fun in the toddler yard....
Charlotte followed some older kids up this giant slide
but then had to be rescued when she realized all the
older kids went ahead of her and she was up there all alone!
Swimming with grandpa....
and grandma....
playing Ring-Around-the-Rosie....
and Eating some healthy and.... some not so
healthy snacks!
(like Choc. Chip Cookies)
On Saturday, Sept. 7th, Late at night
Trudi, George & Wyatt returned home.
the girls were, of course, already fast asleep
so the "welcome home" hugs
would have to wait until morning!
It was a happy reunion.....
and even happier when Charlotte found out
mommy & daddy brought home....PRESENTS!
Stuffie and Hallie to go with her
Doc McStuffin's & Chilly dolls.....and....
A Minnie Mouse purse!
Of course, everyone got Disneyland T-Shirts
and Mouse Ears!
Wyatt sparkled with these
"fireworks" ears...
Cora with her "Princess" crown and....
Charlotte with her...uh....
"Princess" crown with a veil in the BACK!
(Mouse Ears have sure changed a lot since we were kids)
Of course Trudi, George & Wyatt came home with
lots of fun souvenir's and keepsakes.
The little girls did amazing while mommy, daddy and
big brother were gone. They slept all night
for 9 of the 10 days, ate well and seemed to be
happy most of the time.
We left for home on Tuesday the Sept. 10th
and were able to make all
three of our flights on the first try....
Killeen to Houston to San Francisco to Boise.
