Wednesday 3/7

We are off again .... on our way to

El Paso Texas

From Boise to Salt Lake and

Salt lake to Denver where ....

We crossed paths with Debbi.  We had lunch

together at Chick-fil-A

Soon Debbi was on her way to Rock Springs, Wyoming

and we were on our way to El Paso.

Thursday 3/8

It was a beautiful day today with Temperatures in

the mid 70's

this morning we went for a walk around

the neighborhood ....

With the nice warm weather come the signs of Spring

There is a new addition to the Lansford household ....

Tonight was Wyatt's first Band concert ....

As a 6th grader

he is playing the trumpet in the Beginning Band

Beginning band performing, Symphonic Band

seated behind in center section of bleachers and

Honor Band to the right.

Each band played three numbers and did a

wonderful job performing .... it was

an enjoyable evening !

Friday 3/9

Today Trudi, Cora, Morgan and us went to the

Factory Outlet Mall

The biggest hit of the day was .....

playing on the train and ....

Ice Cream truck with Grandma & Grandpa

while Trudi got her shopping done !

this afternoon Linda got the kids together 

and they made .....

chocolate Mousse for

tonight's dessert .... YUM

and now ..... 

it's almost time for .....

Saturday 3/10

George bought a "Surf 'N Slide for the kids.

Today was supposed to be the

warmest day of the week with temperatures

in the 80's

So all the kids got their swim suits on and

George got the Surf 'N Slide out

and began setting it up!

By the time he got all the air chambers filled

the clouds came in and the wind

started to blow .... it was no longer 80 degrees !

They decided to give it a try anyway and

had a ball .... wet & freezing cold .... 

but still had lots of fun.

Wyatt went first ....

then Charlotte gave it a try ....

Cora wasn't sure at first, but after one run

she loved it !

George had to throw Morgan on but soon he

was laughing and having a great time as he

was shivering.

All the kids lined up for

one last slide together.

Ready .... Set ....

GO !

Of course Wyatt had to show off his

graceful sliding form just one last time !

They were all freezing to death, shivering and

having a great time.

Sunday 3/11

Today Wyatt was given the Priesthood and

ordained to the office of Deacon, by his father.

George gave him a beautiful blessing ....

we are very proud of Wyatt.

This evening Linda & Wyatt built

a "Tinker Crate" gadget, a ....

"Wooden Automation"

Once a month a different project comes in the mail

First make sure all the pieces are there.

Use this piece first ?  Really Grandma ?

there were a few directions that were kind of

confusing but ...

they finally got it all figured out

and it Worked .... YAY !

Turn the crank and the balls climb the

stairway, roll down the chute,

then start all over again.

We had a nice day together at the 

Lansford's home in El Paso, Texas.

We are so glad we could share this 

special day with them.

Monday 3/12

This is Spring Break in El Paso

and our last day with the Lansfords.

Tuesday 3/13

Today we flew back home to Star, Idaho

It was a bit of a challenge

partly because this week Spring Break began 

in several places .... 

El Paso being one of them.

(lots of families in all the airports)

We left Trudi's about 5:00 a.m. and ended up

flying to Atlanta, Georgia

(not exactly "on the way" to Idaho)

from there we ended up in Kansas City, Missouri

and on to Salt Lake City, Utah.

We arrived in SLC by early afternoon but

couldn't get on any flights into Boise

until the last flight of the day.

We arrived home, safe, sound & tired

around midnight.

Sunday 3/25

This morning we woke up to Mother Nature's

blanket of Spring Snow

Even though we know it probably won't last long

it is a beautiful sight

Yesterday it was sunny and warm ....

a beautiful day for being outside

today .....

a beautiful day to stay inside by the fire

It looks like March will go

"Out like a lion"

Monday 3/26

Oh what a difference a day makes!

Now it looks like a "lamb"

Thursday 3/29

Today we traveled to Utah.

We stayed with Kevin & his family

Shea is getting so big and has such a cute smile

She loves when her daddy helps her stand up

We took one of our mini ping pong tables

down for them

they were all excited to get it set up .... 

unfold the legs ....

put up the net .... then ....

let the fun begin !

First, mom & dad will show you how it's done ...

(hahaha...it was harder than they thought it would be)

then the boys get their turn.

By the time we left on Sunday they were getting

pretty good.  The best was between

Connor & Grandpa ... ten volleys !

Friday 3/30

Today we had two mission reunions.

The first one was down in South Jordan for

the Southern Australian Missionaries that served

under President Bruce R. McConkie

and President Tanner

There was a good turnout with probably

somewhere around 50 people.

They began with a fireside-like program

in the chapel,

though it was good, it was a little long, lasting

an hour and a half.  After the program

we had a nice potluck luncheon which

gave us an opportunity to visit.

Steve served in 1963-1965 and was able to

meet two of his companions ....

The second reunion was in Centerville for our

Nauvoo Mission.

It, of course, was a lot more fun because 

we knew everyone !  

We had a great turnout, over 80 of our

wonderful Nauvoo Family.

Several of these left early for a second Nauvoo

Reunion for the previous Mission President,

President & Sister Gibbons....but...

several more came after this picture was taken.

It was wonderful to see everyone again !

We had a nice dinner and shared lots of hugs

and sweet memories.

Saturday 3/31

this morning we watched General Conference then

drove down to Debbi's to spend a 

few hours with her.

Ha Ha Ha .... we took a ping pong table to her too !

We had lunch together, watched the afternoon

session of Conference 

(they announced 55 new Area 70's .... 

our Star Stake President, 

Ken Firmage, was among them)

 and one of the

March Madness Final Four games before heading

back to Kevin's.

On the way back to Kevin's we listened to the

first part of the Priesthood session where

they announced a change in the

organization of Priesthood Quorums 

on the Ward level.

One Elder's Quorum for all High Priests, Elders

and Perspective Elders in the Ward.

It has been a fun month and we are anxious for

Spring to "bloom" and for the warm

Summer months to arrive.
