January 30 - February 6

On Tuesday we flew to El Paso Texas to visit

 Trudi, George & kids.

We have had a good time and enjoyed seeing their

new home and town.

El Paso has its own beauty.  It is much different than

we enjoy at home, but in its own way it

it too is beautiful.

Tuesday 2/6

We left El Paso on a 6:30 a.m. flight

(meaning we were up at 4 a.m.)

We would take three flight to get home

El Paso to Denver to SLC to Boise

We arrived in Denver about the same time as

Debbi so we surprised her.

The B84 gate agent went on to the plane 

and got her for us....

he told her there was a passenger having a problem

with the luggage and needed some assistance. 

Of course, Debbi was quite surprised when she

came through the Jetway door and saw us.

We had about 45 minutes together then

Debbi had to go back to work.

We had another hour to wait before 

our next flight.

We were able to get on all our flights .... 1st try ....

and land safely in Boise at 3:30 p.m.

We loved our time in El Paso, 

but are happy to be home where we can

"continue" to recover from the flu .... yuck!

Friday 2/9

Tonight was the Opening Ceremony for the

2018 Winter Olympic Games

in PyeongChang, South Korea

Saturday 2/10

Steve is feeling better now and has started

working in the yard.  He trimmed the

Flowering Plum tree in our front yard the other

day and weeded around it revealing ....

tulips in February .... if they can survive the next

few weeks they will probably make it through

the rest of the winter weather.

While we were on our mission the Plum tree in our

front yard blew over so ....

our housesitters staked it up

Today Steve decided to pull the stake out ....

easier said than done!

It wouldn't come out by hand so he got the

old-time jack out of the pick-up and put

a strap around it .... broke it

got a smaller-size chain .... broke it

got a big heavy chain and after lots and LOTS

of "encouragement" it finally came out ...

YAY !!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

To celebrate we went out to breakfast,

watched it snow,

watched the Olympics &

ate homemade apple turnovers.

It was a nice...peaceful day !

In anticipation of Linda's birthday on the 28th

and Jen's birthday on March 3rd

we got together ....

lit the candles and ....

had Happy Birthday Ice Cream Cake !

2/26

Overnight we had a little bit more snow

It was so wet and heavy that Steve couldn't

use the blower so out came the

good 'ole shovel.

So, another month comes to a close and

life goes on.

We continue to enjoy visiting our family and

are still adjusting to Post-Mission life.

With callings in the Ward and getting to know

all the new people we are making progress !
