Monday 1/1
At midnight the Celebration began .... ringing
in the New Year 2018 !
Sadly, Linda was the only one still up to watch it ...
everyone else had gone to bed.
everyone else had gone to bed.
A few hours later we were eating
Fresh, warm, Cinnamon rolls .... delicious,

throwing serpentine, pulling confetti poppers
and blowing horns

Happy New Year !!
Debbi came up to spend the day with us and help
us eat all the New Year's Day food.
A Waite Family tradition which lasts ....
all day
fruit, vegies, summer sausage, cheese, chips, dip,
rolls, lunch meat, sparkling cider, and ...
Sunday dinner left overs
And she came bearing gifts !
She's been cleaning out things from her move ...
We'll call it "re-gifting"
Aunt Debbi Love !
Crew, Connor, Sydney, Debbi & Shea
It was a nice day outside so ....
the kids had fun throwing "Poppers"
in the driveway and ....
plotting with grandpa to throw snowballs at
GRANDMA !
Connor & Grandpa teamed up for
a rousing game of "Watch Your Mouth"
Kevin took a turn as did ....
Debbi and ....
even Sydney .... hahaha .... what a cutie !
We all had a good time laughing WITH each other !
Tuesday 1/2

Salt Lake to help Debbi and accompany her to
a doctor's appointment with her

We will miss him and pray for Heavenly Father to
comfort his family, friends &
members of the church.

her new recliner and ....
Sofa pillows ....It looks like she is getting more
organized all the time !
Friday 1/5
Today Linda finished our New Year's Letter
We send it via email to our nieces & nephews and
via USPS to Linda's mother, our siblings, kids and
a few of our old friends from Bend.
Tuesday 1/9
This week is our "doctor" week.
Today Steve had an appointment with
his skin doctor for a skin cancer check-up
He ended up having a treatment while
he was there so it took a couple of hours longer
than anticipated ... all is well !
This afternoon Linda had an appointment with
her chiropractor. It's been 2 years since
she has seen him so this adjustment was long overdue.
Wednesday 1/10
Today Steve's appointment was with his
Gastroenterologist to have his
esophagus dilated ....
he has to do this every
couple of years due to Silent Acid Reflux damage
Thursday 1/11
Today Steve had his last doctor's appointment of the week ...
a re-check with his Urologist .... All is well !
Isn't it fun getting "older" .... we remember when we
used to talk about all the fun stuff
our kids were doing and how busy we were trying to
keep up with them .... now we talk about our aches
and pains, medication & doctor visits ....
It's a GREAT life .... really, it is !
Friday 1/12
This afternoon was President Monson's funeral.
President Russell M. Nelson
(president of the Q of 12)
was the concluding speaker.
President Monson's daughter,
Ann Dibb, gave the Eulogy,
President's Eyring & Uchtdorf both spoke and
the Choir sang musical numbers hand
picked by President Monson.
It makes us smile to know he is once again ....

Monday 1/15
Since we were gone so much in December we didn't
take the opportunity to see a couple of
the big light displays near Star .... so tonight we ....
Drove into Meridian to the Scentsy Commons
where they have hundreds of thousands of lights
in the trees all around the grounds.
and they are beautiful
From there we drove about 20 miles N/W to Caldwell.
Tonight was the last night for their display
A lighted tunnel
2 beautifully lit bridges
displays floating in the river
along with a sea serpent
They call it Caldwell's Winter Wonderland.
We are glad we decided to go !

This evening we decided to go to the Cinema's
in Boise with Dave & Gayle and see ....

"The Greatest Showman"
It is the story of P.T. Barnum's beginnings ....
lots of modern day music & dancing
placed in an early 1800's story.
Friday 1/19
Yesterday before going to the movie we stopped
by Deseret Book and picked up a
new picture for our home.
It shows the six "Pioneer Temples"
Kirtland, Nauvoo, St. George, Logan, Manti & Salt Lake
We took down the Nauvoo Map and hung this
one in its place.
It fits perfectly with all the other frames and
with our Nauvoo pioneer "things".
Thank you Trudi & George .... We Love It !
and by the way,
Steve took his life in his hands, climbed the ladder and ...
placed the Nauvoo Map above our
fun Nauvoo Village
The map is titled
"A birds-eye view of Nauvoo"
Now don't you think it is appropriately placed?
It's been a busy day so far but the fun is just beginning
with our new portable toy.
Can you really play ping pong on this little table?
Why yes!
It's a great little table that folds up into
a neat 3 x 3 stowaway package.
Tuesday 1/30
