Tuesday, March 15th
Our teachers heard there was a storm coming in so
they finished up 1 1/2 hours early. We
were all loaded, checked out and
on the road by 3 p.m..
There were several couples that all left this afternoon
and we sent texts all along the way with
location and road conditions for each
other.
We drove to Rawlins Wyoming tonight and
Stayed in the Marriott, Fairfield Inn.
Once again....thanks to Pam for the wonderful
"deals" at Marriott !
On Wednesday we were on the road to
Council Bluffs, Iowa.
We left Rawlins about 8:30 a.m.
We had some pretty bad weather early today,
especially at the higher elevations
(above 7,000 ft),
but it didn’t last very long and we were soon
driving along on dry pavement.
It was a long day of driving ...
so we arrived at our hotel around 8:30 p.m
On Thursday we traveled to
Davenport and stayed overnight with the
Lansford's
We arrived just about the same time as the
kids were getting out of school
so we had the afternoon and evening to
spend with them.
Charlotte & Cora baked some cookies
in their EZ Bake Oven and
they were actually pretty good !
Wyatt wanted to try cracking marbles in
the oven and ice water .... so we did !
He also had some time to play
Electronic Battleship with Grandpa.
and then there is Morgan....he just liked
to walk around the furniture
being cute !
On Friday morning we called the mission
Secretary and set up our appointment
with the President.
We were to meet him at noon so we left
around 9:15 and arrived with a
little time to spare.
