First Stop....St. Paul Temple

On Tuesday, 3/31
we began our 10 day trip

Our flight didn't leave until 2 p.m. so we
were just relaxing in our
"power" recliners when our electricity
went out!
After investigating a little bit and learning
that this was a huge outage and
was going to last a while
we "climbed" out of our recliners
and finished packing.

The power came back on after a
couple of hours and we were able to have
our breakfast and head for the
airport in time to make our flight.

We didn't have any trouble getting on
our flight, which is a nice treat,
and arrived in Minneapolis at 6 p.m.

We got our bags, walked to the car rental center
got our car and headed for the temple.

The last session of the day began at 7:45 and
after map quest misdirected us
we arrived at the temple at 7:25.
I ran in (in my traveling clothes) and asked
if there was still room in the session
and if there was a place we could change...
the answer was yes on both accounts.

We got a little boy scout that was standing
outside the temple to hurry and take
this picture then we
parked and hurried in.

The temple is very small and quite plain/simple
yet still beautiful!

Of course it was dark when we finished.

But we love seeing the temples all lit up.

We drove to our hotel, the LivINN,
just a little way from the temple.
We got checked in and
had some dinner at the "on site" Denny's.

The next morning the
The hotel staff was busy  unpacking new.....

CHAIRS !!

We checked out, had some breakfast at
Denny's and headed for....

The Mall of America!

It Is HUGE !!!

This is the directory....

four levels....

and this amazing.....

full size indoor carnival....

we picked one ride to go on....

The Log Chute.
It cost $15 for the two of us to go on
this one ride
(people were spending hundreds of dollars)
It was fun floating along the lazy river
then plunging down a couple of steep
drops with a shower of
splashing water when we hit bottom.

By now it was time to leave for the airport
and continue on to George & Trudi's
in Davenport, Iowa.

Wednesday, 4/1

We didn't have any trouble getting on
our flight and arrived at the
Quad City Airport right on time!

Trudi and the kids picked us up
and for an added surprise

Debbi was with them!!
