A Busy June!

The first week of June we flew to Texas

to help Trudi move to a new house in Killeen which was

only a few blocks from her old house.

With George deployed she needed her

dad to help with the moving

and

her mom to take care of the kids!

When we arrived she had nearly everything

in the house already packed.

and we only had to repack a few "book" boxes

that we thought were too heavy

Wyatt and Charlotte took advantage of all the

cool boxes that were lying around

playing on top of and ....

inside of them all day long

The one thing she hadn't done was the garage...

so Steve & Trudi began moving

everything carload by carload until....

The old garage was empty, and.....

the new garage was full !

Wyatt thought having dinner at the new house...

Pre-moving day....was a pretty fun adventure

one at the top of the stairs and 

one downstairs.

Look what we found

A beautiful above-ground saltwater pool

(which, by the way, we were able to try out)

AND

this trampoline....even Grandpa gave it a try.

On moving day Trudi rented a U-Haul for the day

and several men from her Ward

came to help.  They only had to make two trips

and they were done!

We stayed for a few more days to help unpack

before heading for home.

  

After trying for two days to get on a flight out of Killeen,

Trudi finally had to drive us to Austin

(about an hour south)

Where we were able to get on a flight to

Salt Lake City.

Kevin picked us up at the airport and we

stayed there for a couple of days

We had fun with the boys both inside the house

and

Outside in the backyard.

A few days after we returned home

Matt's girls had a 

"sleepover"

at Grandma and Grandpa's house

It was for ONE night although

it looks like they came for the week!

We made Lemonade popsicles which

tasted very good on a HOT summer day!

Before we knew it July was here and

as luck would have it

Debbi ended up having a long

lay-over in BOISE on the 4th of July

Matt's girls were very excited....

they LOVE their Aunt Debbi

We had left-over popsicles sooooo

guess who finished them off

We all met at Matt's house for some fireworks.

 Several of the Smith cousins (Jen's side) 

live in the Boise area so they all came for some

 4th of July fun.

Our town of Star had it's first ever professional

fireworks display.

We didn't go but were able to watch them from 

Matt's house...it lasted a 1/2 hour and

was as good as any we've ever seen.

Trudi's husband, George who has been deployed

for the last nine months will be coming

home soon.

a "Count-down Chain" now hangs by

their front door.

This is a very exciting time for their family

We are grateful for his service and look forward

to his safe return

before his birthday on August 1st.
