Thursday 2/7

In the very early hours of the morning, it started to snow . . . .

By morning, about six inches of the white stuff had accumulated. The undisturbed blanket of snow was beautiful, however . . . .

It wasn't long before the sound of snowblowers and shovels could be heard all around the neighborhood. We were happy when one of our friends showed up to help Steve. We are grateful for him. We learned that he had not only done his own house, but several others that he knew could use some help. Oh to be young again!!

Monday 2/10

Nearly 20 years ago, while still living in Bend, Oregon, our friend, Rod Cooper, gave Steve a hand-made, wooden, back scratcher. We loved it and kept it nearby at all times. A short time ago, while using it, it broke. Rod found out and today we received a package from him.

He not only made Steve a new back scratcher... YaY,  but also sent us one of his, hand-made Charcuterie boards. It is beautiful. We are grateful for friendships that last a lifetime.

Thursday 2/13

In all our cold (in the teens) weather, the gutters froze full. As it started melting, it ran down and then froze to  the side of the house. It also ran off onto the sidewalk and froze solid! There is more snow expected today and tomorrow so we thought we'd better try and get the ice off the walkway leading to our front door so all of our "many" visitor's would be safe.

Steve tried some "ice melt" but it didn't even phase it. So.... Linda filled a pitcher full of hot water and passed it off to Steve, he poured it on the ice then used a scraper to break up the ice. It worked, but took several pitchers to get it all. 

AND . . . 

Then the snow and the wind came.

The wind blew the snow off the roof and . . .

on to Steve !! Actually, the snow was very light (unlike our last snow storm that had very wet and heavy snow), so the snow-blower did really well.

Friday 2/14

More snow and . . . 

Another "snow angel" showed up - We are blessed with some pretty wonderful friends !!

It is our 56th Valentine's Day together

We decided to just stay home today and go out next week when the restaurants aren't so busy. Our at-home Valentine's Day dinner - salisbury steak, gravy, potatoes, rolls and cinnamon rolls for dessert. 

Wednesday 2/19

As the snow continues to melt, we were surprised to see . . . .

Tulips & Dafodils peeking out from under the snow ... do they think it's Spring???

Saturday 2/22

Today we received a few items via Fed Ex. They came from our medicare insurance OTC catalog. A mini bike exerciser, hand-strengthening tool and lumbar pillow.

The bike came in a few pieces and had to be assembled. The hand tool and pillow just had to be taken out of the box... we can handle that !!

Here, Steve is taking advantage of both devices at the same time. You can't see it, but he is also utilizing the "lumbar pillow"...  wow, 3 at one time! - Go Steve!

Friday 2/28

Linda's 76th Birthday

it's fun when your birthday lasts FOUR DAYS !!

Jen's birthday is just three days after Linda's so they often celebrate together !!

This cake was delivered on the morning of Linda's Birthday. It didn't come with a card or anything that revealed who sent it. A little bit later the mystery was solved with a funny video clip via text message saying "It Was Me". We're glad we got to share it with Matt's family. The cake was made by "Nothing Bundt Cakes" and was delicious!

February started out cold and snowy but ended with warmer, spring-like temperatures. The month flew by, ending with a fun birthday celebration. We wonder what "surprises" March will bring!
