Wednesday 5/4

Today we took advantage of the beautiful spring weather and did some yard work. We went to Home Depot and bought flowers!

First, most of our tulips were not beautiful this year. 

This is what they usually look like and this little clump looks great this year, however . . . .

This is how the same plants around our front yard tree looked, 

not so good!

So, today we dug them up (we will plant new ones in the fall) and . . . 

Planted Marigolds and petunias in the tree ring.

We planted the same thing in the backyard tree ring

They look good with our little bunny family.

And these flowers brightened up this fountain turned planter. We also planted some zinnias and periwinkles. 

While Linda was busy with flowers . . . .

Steve was busy with tomatoes.

This Early Girl variety should start bearing fruit by the first of July.  We worked hard and put nearly 90 plants in the ground. Hopefully they will look beautiful this summer!

After 4-5 hours, our poor old bodies took a well-deserved rest

on the back patio.

Monday 5/9

Now that our flowers are planted and the lilacs are blooming . . . .

Friday 5/13

It is a nice day today so . . . .

We planted a few more pansies and some dianthus out back

They really brighten up this corner of our back yard and hopefully they will survive the winter and come back again next year.

Our 1st Iris bloomed today !

Yesterday the spring on our garage door opener broke (it made a terrible noise) so today we had a new and improved one installed.

Removing the OLD . . . .

installing the NEW. . .  .

sometimes a challenge . . . .

and voila . . . . up it goes, YaY !

Monday 5/24

Our Clematis is in full bloom and catches the eye of everyone that visits or passes by. It's is so sad that it doesn't keep on blooming throughout the summer. We are working on trying to direct the vines to the empty spot above the pink flowers.

Saturday 5/28

Steve has fun putting out little treats for a squirrel that frequents our back yard

he usually sets the treats in the crook of our maple tree trunk and this little guy knows exactly where to go to find them, so it was unusual to see him out in our grass today . . . . he's so cute!

Monday 5/30 - Memorial Day

 This morning, our Ward had a Memorial Day activity.

Due to RAIN, we had a very short Flag Ceremony outside and....

a delicious pancake breakfast in the cultural hall.

this afternoon we drove over to the . . . .

Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery in Eagle. They always set out lots of beautiful flags so it's very inspiring to drive through.

We visited Gayle's grave site . . .

We have prayed for rain and our prayers are being answered. We are grateful for the moisture we have been receiving this month. We have loved the awakening that spring brings with all its beautifully colored  flowers.  Now on to June and warmer summer days!
