Sunday 2/7
February is off to a slow start.
We flew home from Texas on Monday, the 1st. We made all of our very quick connections so it was a good trip home.
Linda developed some vertigo a couple of days before coming home so we have been taking it easy, giving her a chance to recover. She is doing much better now and only "spinning around" once in a while . . . mostly when she moves too fast.
Today we had a full block of in-person church. It's been a long time since we have been able to do that. They are still offering virtual Sacrament Meeting for those that don't feel comfortable attending our meetings in-person.
Monday 2/8
This afternoon,
we made Chocolate Chip muffins to share with our ministering families. It was a new-to-us recipe so of course we had to do a taste test . . . they passed with flying colors !
Tuesday 2/9
Today we went to RC Willey, where Matt works, and purchased . . . .
two new tablets !
The Galaxy Tab A7, 10.4", with 64gb of internal storage. They came on sale today for $60 off the MSRP. The tablets we have been using are just 16gb and were driving us crazy because of the lack of space. So going from the 16gb to 64gb will be a HUGE improvement.
We ordered screen protectors and cases for them tonight and on Thursday afternoon . . . .

Friday 2/12
Today we got our first "real" snow this winter.
It looks like about 3 inches and is . . . .
very wet and heavy. Steve says it is too heavy for our little, electric snow blower . . . so sad.
Saturday 2/13
As you can see, it is . . . .
Still snowing !
Another 5 inches or so overnight and this morning making . . . .
somewhere around 8 inches with another storm on the way.
This time the snow wasn't quite as wet so Steve was able to use the snow blower . . . . a real "back saver"
Sunday 2/14 - Valentine's Day
We bought our grandkids some jigsaw puzzles for Valentine's Day.

Monday 2/15
After a short break the snow continues with . . . .
with BIG beautiful snowflakes!
Sometime during the night the Lansford's lost power and woke up to a very cold, 58 degree, house.
Texas has been having a record-breaking winter.
With unusual weather conditions
They are experiencing snow . . .
ice, freezing rain and sub-zero temperatures.
Most of the state is now without any power and some without water as the pipes are freezing. This is something that Texans are not accustomed to. With black ice on the roads they are staying home and trying to keep warm.
George was inspired to go buy a nice generator, so they had enough power to run a few electrical appliances. That turned out to be a very good decision because they were without power for nearly three days and IT WAS COLD.
At night, their whole family slept in one bedroom with a TV, space heater and lots of blankets !
During the day, they moved their fireplace into the family room/kitchen area to keep from freezing.
They ran cords from the generator all around the house
They had to dig the power cord out from behind both the refrigerator and the microwave - And they had to unplug the refrigerator every time they wanted to use the microwave.
Oh the fun they had.
It has been an interesting week for the Lansford family and long pants, socks, sweaters and blankets became the new dress standard at their house.
Wednesday 2/17
Early this evening our neighbor that lives across the street from us dropped by our house.
He brought this fun "Ducks" blanket with him.
Someone made it for him, but he isn't a Duck fan so, knowing that we were big Duck fans, he decided to offer it to us. Steve gladly accepted his offering.
Tuesday 2/23
Kevin has created the "Wall of GI JOE stuff"
He has finished the restoration of the gray Sky Striker Jet and now has it on display in the family room, along with several other GI Joe toys from his childhood. It's a collection that has been hidden away in a very large tote for several years . . . . now he will be able to share his memories with family and friends.
Friday 2/26
Today, Linda got her 1st Vaccine - also Pfizer
We tried to get them at the same place and time, but that didn't happen. Not knowing that St. Luke's was prioritizing the vaccines for people over 75, we made Steve's appointment. Then when we tried to get one for Linda, we couldn't. Finally, a week later, an appointment for Linda became available. Steve went to St. Luke's in Nampa and Linda ended up at St. Luke's in Meridian. We both had very similar experiences. No waiting, no pain, no side effects - YaY !
Sunday 2/28
Happy Birthday Linda
72 years ago today she came into this world. Living in Westchester, California with her mother-Ruth, Father-Gail
and big sister-Karen (2 years older).

Over the next nine years, siblings Greg-1952, Jim-1956 & Pam-1958 joined our family.
Linda has received lots of birthday wishes . . . .
Last night a sweet sister in our ward delivered this bouquet, and . . .
Today there have been lots of birthday wishes via phone calls, text messages and this fun ZOOM "party" with Kevin's family. It's always fun to hear from kids, grandkids, extended family and friends . . . .
all in one day !
Thank you EVERYONE for remembering this special day . . .
it has been a good day !
And just like that, another month is gone and 2021 moves on to the month of March and the hope of an early spring.
