Kevin and Lani are preparing to move
to Springville and back into
their Town home.
We were able to go down and help
them with their renovating
a couple of times while we were in Salt Lake.
They have already done some painting and
are now preparing for all new flooring.
The first time we went to help
we worked downstairs
The carpet & pad was already torn out so
we worked on patching concrete,
scraping the pad glue off the concrete,
removing the old tack strip, sweeping and ....
trying to break up the entryway tile.
which was a very loud process!

Part of the time Linda entertained
the kids by spending some
time at the playground on the corner.
Connor & Crew rode their scooters
to the playground
and Sydney had fun swinging and ....
riding on her airplane
(the sun was very bright!)
They are gradually moving things into
their garage and it's .....
filling up fast !
The second time we went down was after
Connor's Soccer game.
We dropped the kids off at Wiseman's then
Kevin & Lani and Steve & Linda
took the Wiseman's trailer and
headed for Springville.
We picked up a load of Laminate flooring
from Lowe's in Orem on the way.
Our goal for the day was to rip out all the
upstairs carpet & pad,
pull out all the staples left from the old pad
and haul it all to the dump.
Ready ... Set ... Go

which turned out to be a dangerous job
(his other arm didn't look much better)
Lani rolling it up and taking it outside.
Lani and Linda pulled out most the staples
upstairs and ....
on the stairs
while the boys took a very full trailer
to the dump.
(Sometime along the way all the
laminate from Lowe's got unloaded)
When they returned ....
they took all the doors off their hinges
and stacked them downstairs
We got everything swept and the upstairs was
now ready to have new carpet installed!
We had a little time before heading back to
Salt Lake so we worked on
a couple more projects downstairs.
Kevin got serious with the entryway tile
that was being a bit stubborn
and we started pulling up the old laminate
from the kitchen and dining areas
They have ordered their carpet and hope to
have that installed soon.
Kevin will work on getting the downstairs
ready for the laminate which will involve
leveling the living room floor because it has a
high spot right in the middle....ugh!
(they ended up having a friend grind it down)
Steve & Matt (and maybe Linda) will be making
a quick trip to help put the new
laminate floor in on the 18th, can't wait to see it !!
