Sydney's Birthday

On Saturday, May 16th
We left for Utah

We picked up Gayle and were on our way.

It was an overcast day....nice for traveling.
We stopped at Perkins in Burley
for some lunch and when we got back
on the road it started to rain.
By the time we hit the Snowville area
it was raining pretty hard and
continued for most of the remaining miles.

We dropped Gayle off at her mother's
house in Sandy
(her mother is 101 years old)
then drove back to Kevin's in Sugar House.

By the time we arrived everyone was
getting hungry so we went out
to eat at the Cowboy Grub restaurant.

On Sunday after church we celebrated
Sydney's birthday.
(also her cousin Cadie who is 4 days older)

Before the party there was a little time
for Sydney and Grandma to get
acquainted.

Soon it was time to open the
birthday gifts!

She got this cute activity house from
Grandma & Grandpa Waite and Debbi.
We also brought a bag full of
hand-me-down clothes from Trudi
which included some dresses
Linda had made.

Sydney enjoyed her b-day gifts...
she did Okay for a little girl with a
pretty blue dress, book, play clothes & toys

Soon it was time for Birthday Cake

Lani & her sister made each of the little
girls their own "Smash" cake.

It had been a long day and by now
Sydney wasn't a very happy little girl

Debbi did her best to keep her happy

We all sang Happy Birthday then.....

watched as Sydney began eating
her cake, then.....

She got mad because the frosting
was too sticky !

It was a fun day celebrating this cute little
girls 1st birthday!
