On Monday, Oct 31st, Steve & I and Marilyn & Keith
decided to take a trip to Washington State.
We stopped in Baker City and La Grande where we
were able to enjoy short visits with Glenda, Selwyn and Lila.
We continued on via I-84 & 82 (I think) to the Tri Cities area.
We spent Monday night in Richland and stayed at the
Beautiful Marriott Courtyard Hotel.
Thanks to Linda's sister we were able to have
wonderful accommodations during our trip.
On Tuesday morning we attended a session in the
Columbia River Temple
After we checked out of the Hotel we wandered around
the Hotel grounds.
The view from the Hotel was beautiful
looking out onto this Marina
We left Richland, had some lunch at a Red Robin
in nearby Kennewick then drove up to Spokane.
We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable.
They had a very nice breakfast AND
an evening "Social" where they served a light dinner.
This was all included in the room rate.
On Wednesday morning we did a session in the
Beautiful Spokane Temple.
After the Temple we changed and drove to
Old downtown Spokane and
walked around the Riverfront Park.
The Spokane River runs through the park. The
views of the river and falls from the Bridges are gorgeous.
After crossing this bridge we crossed back on
the bridge you see behind us.
As you can see, though it was a bit cold, we had
a good time together.
On our way to the bridge we stopped at
"Canada Island"
It's not really an island, but a secluded area within the park.
There we found this beautiful Totum Pole.
The park has a huge indoor mall called
"River Park Square"
It is at least four levels.
We had our lunch at "Cruisers" in the food court.
Just across the street from the entrance to the mall is this
amazing sculpture of runners.
Marilyn was trying to keep up, she actually did pretty good!
On our way back to the car we stopped off at this
indoor Carousel. Unfortunately it had closed
for maintenance just the day before.
We left downtown and went back to the Hotel.
where we took some time to warm up and rest.
The temple was so beautiful we decided to do another
session in the evening.
Then we hurried back to the Hotel just in time for
the evening Social and Dinner.
On Thursday we left Spokane and headed for home.
We decided not to take the freeway but
to take Highway 95 from Coeur d'Alene to Parma.
We stopped in a little town named White Bird along the
Salmon River. It has a population of about 125...
way smaller than Star!
We had lunch at this Cafe'.
While there a hunter came in to eat and this is what he
brought down the mountain with him.
9 by 9 and 458 on the Boon & Crockett Scale.
Also, while at Hoot's,
Steve bought me this beautiful
Turquoise Jewelry as a souvenir.
We continued on and along the way
saw some beautiful scenery.
The Tamaracks are bright yellow this time of year
and look amazing mixed in with the evergreens.
We arrived in Parma before dark, picked up our car
and arrived in Star around 7pm.
It was a great trip!
we enjoyed our time in the Temples,
Sightseeing and good company.
Thanks Parker's for inviting us to "tag along"
we loved it!
