 Friday 4/7

Today Linda helped Camrynn with a candy making project. 

First we "painted" the bottom and sides of these silicone forms with white chocolate and let them harden.

Once they cooled off and were hard, we removed the form and filled them with a yummy mix of candy.

last, the Bunny Butt, along with a little wooden hammer to break the chocolate shell, are placed in a box and are ready to be sold.

Saturday 4/8

We have owned our car for about 7 months now and today . . . .

we finally rolled over the 2,000 mile mark.

This afternoon we went to Boise to help Dave and some of his kids as they prepare for his move next week. We got the China cabinet all packed up and also a display case and some books. We moved the two cabinets and some end tables to his new place.

It is the first time we have been inside. It feels spacious and will be just right for him. 

Sunday 4/9

Today is Easter Sunday. We had a nice, 1-hour meeting. Linda played the organ and a member of our bishopric and his wife read the Easter story and shared their testimonies. 

After our meetings Linda made a nice Ham dinner. We talked with our kids then went to Matt's house for dessert. It was a nice day... the weather was nice too...low 70's!

Wednesday 4/12

This morning, we looked out the window and what did we see . . . .

Friday 4/14

Yesterday Dave gave Steve an old slide and said it was a picture of him hunting in the mountains above La Grande, so . . ..

Today Steve pulled out an old slide projector he got from Dave a couple of years ago. After spending some time figuring out how it worked . . . .

we were able to view a tray of old hunting pictures, including the one we got yesterday .  . .

Sure enough , it WAS of him!

Saturday 4/15

Today we went in to Boise to see how Dave's move was going.

We found him and his boys working at the old house. By tonight everything will be moved and Dave will be able to close the books on the Targee home. He has enjoyed living there for the last 20+ years, but it is time to move on to a smaller, less-to-maintain place that he will now call "home".  He has a fun little place and, for the time being, will have plenty of  unpacking & organizing to keep him busy.

We also stopped off at Jen's Spring Pop-Up !  

She has been working hard for several months on this event and today it happened!

These are all her vendors. They each have homemade things they specialize in and joined this event to show-off and sell some of their wares. It looked like everyone was having fun, doing well and enjoying all the visitor's that stopped by to do a little shopping.

This morning the Mud Guards we bought for our new car arrived in the mail.

They were shipped from Korea so . . . 

it took a few weeks for them to get here.

This afternoon after we returned from Boise, Steve got them installed.

 Steve had a treatment for pre-cancer "spots" on his head

today . . . 

 he did it again! 

 The whole process takes about 2 hours but seems to be very effective.

Friday 4/21

Today was our "visiting" day.

First off, Kevin & us drove down to Debbi's house in Taylorsville. Then we went out to lunch at Burger King before going to see the Mastrude's at their new home in Sagewood at Daybreak..

They were so happy to see us. They showed us their very nice apartment and we had a nice visit.

On Sunday these two lovebirds will celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary - AMAZING ! !

After our visit we headed for Kevin's, dropping Debbi off at her place along the way. Last year Kevin & Lani did a major remodel at their house. We had not seen the finished project so it was fun to see the transformation from old to new.

a beautiful master bathroom for Kevin and Lani. It was a long and painful process, but the end result was worth it. Everything they did turned out perfect.

Saturday 4/22

This morning we left for home.

It was a beautiful day to travel.

When Steve took our suitcase out to the car this morning, he opened the back of the car and . . . .

this heavy metal camping cooler fell out and landed on his foot. His big toe was very sore all the way home.

When we got home and finally had a chance to look at it, this is what he found. It is very swollen and, as you can see, a beautiful black and blue color... no wonder it is sore!

This trip to Utah was very short but we enjoyed every minute ! !

(except for the "cooler" incident which was not enjoyable at all)

Sunday 4/23

The bruising covers most of his foot, but by day six it is starting to look better!

We won't gross-you-out with a picture but on day eight the toenail finally came off with a little help from Steve.

Monday 4/24

Our resident ducks are back!

 Three male ducks attacked this poor little female right by our front door. This male must be her favorite as he emerged victorious!

We also have two mourning doves that nest in the rain gutter above our front porch. It doesn't seem like the most ideal place to nest, but they do it every year!

Tuesday 4/25

Debbi is on another adventure!

She is in South Africa !

We got this picture of her on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi river in Zimbabwe. She said they saw lots of Hippos! Last night she and her friend, Tiffany, did a session in the "very cool tiny little" Johannesburg, South Africa Temple. 

They went on Safari in the Chobe National Park in Botswana

 and to Victoria Falls 

one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, in Zimbabwe.

Wednesday 4/26

Today Trudi & Wyatt traveled 7 hours to Las Vegas just to get Wyatt's braces removed.

Thursday 4/27

Today we spent the early afternoon at the Meridian, Idaho Temple

The flowers are all in bloom and the . . . .

Daffodils, Tulips & Hyacinths are beautiful!

We think these are flowering Pear trees. They are also in full bloom and also very beautiful.

Back at home, our flowering pear and . . . .

 After a light lunch, we did a little bit of yard work

Steve did the first ''real" mowing. As you can see, the grass was pretty long in some parts so it took awhile to get the job done.

Friday 4/28

This afternoon we visited with our Niece & Nephew, Heather & Nathan Ogden. Heather was not home when we arrive so Nate showed us all around their freshly painted, new home. All the improvements they have done are beautiful. We can't wait to see how their "all new" landscaping, now in progress, looks in a couple of months.

Before we left, Nathan asked Steve to help him with a little project. He needed help replacing the flapper in one of their toilets. It was an easy job Steve was happy to do... hope it works!  As we were getting ready to leave, Heather pulled up so that gave us a chance to also visit with her for a little bit.

Saturday 4/29

Today was our Ward R.S. Super Saturday. It was a small group, but we had fun visiting and creating

Sunday 4/30

It is the last day of April and it is beautiful and perfect for . . . .

Just relaxing on the back patio and . . . .

 If you look close, you will see s squirrel just relaxing  on the trunk of the ole' Maple Tree.

April is ending with a beautiful, sunny, warm day. We know it won't last forever, but for now we are enjoying it! We are grateful for all of the, much needed, moisture received this spring. Now we are ready for beautiful new spring flowers, rivers & streams filled to the brim and new leaves on the trees.
