After dinner Uncle Dave, Steve & Matt tried to solve a "rolling" sound inside our table. After tipping the table back and forth several times they figured it out. It sounded like a marble or steel ball inside the table but ended up being a dowel inside the sliding boards that, after nearly 35 years, came loose.
Tuesday 9/15
Today we traveled to Killeen Texas to visit Trudi and the kids. It was an all day project ! We got up at 5:30 a.m. and arrived at Trudi's at 9:30 p.m. It took three legs - Boise to Minneapolis, Minneapolis to Houston on Delta and Houston to Killeen on United with a long 4+ hour layover in Houston.
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset while waiting for our last flight in the Houston Airport
Wednesday 9/16
The kids were all asleep when we arrived last night so this morning we got our welcome hugs. After breakfast and a short Book of Mormon lesson the kids all began their online school. Trudi kept busy trying to spread herself out between the kids when they needed help. School gets out at 4:00 then they have time for playing.
Morgan playing with his funny little robot that goes by itself with a sensor that keeps it from bumping into things, turning around and heading in a new direction when it senses something in it's way . . . W A Y fun !
Cora loves to be outside playing basketball, swinging, playing with the dogs or just wandering around the yard being curious.
Thursday 9/17
School continued today but in between assignments and after school we managed to have some fun with the Grandkids . . . .
Cora loves to play games on Grandma's tablet and . . . .
line up all her tiny ponies, placing them carefully in a row (and you'd better not even think about rearranging them for her)
Morgan helped Grandma make Banana Bread then . . . .
gave it a thumbs-up when we had some for dessert
tonight after dinner.
Charlotte & Wyatt joined with grandma for some fun rounds of hangman and . . . .
Wyatt helped grandpa out in the yard, cutting the grass while grandpa did the edging.
Friday 9/18
Linda's sisters came for a visit today. We had dinner together and we gave them their . . . .
"Mother" books. We visited and had fun reminiscing.
Karen's daughter, Shelly came too. She was having fun with the kids for a while then joined us as we looked through the books.
Saturday 9/19
Karen's son, Karl, and his family drove down from Fort Worth to pick up his mother and sister. The kids all had a great time and the adults had fun visiting and just being together.

We had a fun day together. It was quite by accident that Karen's trip from California ended up being the same time we were at Trudi's and that Pam, who lives in San Antonio, was free to pick Karen & Shelly up in Austin and bring them up to Killeen (about a 2 hour drive for her). Karl had about a two hour drive down to Killeen from Forth Worth. It was so nice to see his family after several years. His kids have all grown so much since we last saw them. Isn't family great. We may not see each other very often, but it's always good to see family and enjoy that instant bond with each other no matter how long its been since last being together.

Tuesday 9/22
We were up at 6:00 a.m. to get ready for a 7:30 flight from Killeen/Ft. Hood, Texas to Houston, Texas, the first of three legs today. From Houston we got on a flight to Salt Lake City, Utah and from there . . . .
We were able to get on our final leg to Boise, Idaho, landing at 4:30. A much shorter day of traveling than the day we flew out to Texas last week, which took 16 hours. All the airports and airlines require face masks so this is what we looked like ALL DAY. We were able to take them off when we ate and that sure felt good
(guess we should have eaten more often, lol)
Friday 9/25
Yesterday we "acquired" about a dozen very ripe bananas sooo, today Linda mashed them up and made . . . .
Banana Bread - 4 mini loaves and 2 regular size . . . .
we will be sharing !
Wednesday 9/30
Today our Ward had a Cannery assignment. We did the "mid-shift" from 12:30 to 4:30.
We did about 7,000 cans of Pears during our 4 hour shift.
Steve worked on "the line" cutting out bad spots and skin the machine didn't remove.
Linda, with her friend Sunny working on "lids", was the person in charge of weighing cans.
Every 15 minutes she weighed 5 cans before any liquid was added and also weighed 5 sealed cans every half an hour.
After our shift we stopped by Matt's house to see their new paint job.

The red brick will be painted blue when the painters come back to do their touch-up work.

We have enjoyed our adventures during the month of September and look forward to new ones in October, beginning with watching General Conference and being uplifted rather than watching the discouraging chaos that is going on in our country. Here's to another month gone by and one month closer to the end of this crazy 2020 year !
