Flat Grandma and Grandpa

This afternoon we decided to send a . . . .

"Flat Grandma & Grandpa Waite"
to each of our children and grandchildren

Along with our cut-out, we sent this little note:

A while back Crew sent us a “Flat Stanley”.

It was fun taking him around with us and taking pictures with him.

We thought, since we can’t visit ‘in person’, that it might be fun for 

your family to have a “flat Grandma & Grandpa Waite”

to take around with you.  You can take some pictures and then send them back to us.

So. . . . here we are . . . . Flat as Flat can be and 

ready to join you for a few days.

We are excited to visit each of you and to get some pictures with you.

We are expecting to have some fun with you so knock yourselves out 

and take us along to enjoy some fun times together!

It took a while for everyone to get their letters, as a matter of fact Kevin's family never did get theirs so we had to send them a new one.  But we are now beginning to receive a few photos and hope to get a LOT MORE ! !

Matt's family was the first to receive their letter and sent us a couple of really cute Marco Polo's, but I guess you can't save them to your phone so we couldn't post them. 😥

she said . . . . "This is gonna be fun !"  then . . . .

she sent their very first picture.

Sienna, Camrynn & Matt invited us to breakfast . . . . . yum !

The day Debbi received our letter.  She said:  "So Cute! the first place you came with me is my kitchen.  lol.

"Real Grandma" . . . . paying bills . . . . UGH !

Since the USPS messed up and tried to forward their letter, which was addressed correctly, 

they didn't get it before their family trip

to Lake Powell, sooo . . . ..

Jetta took us to the Drive-thru at the bank . . . .

Kevin and his boys went on a hike today . . . . but first . . . .

We are ready for some exercise . . . . ready, set . . . .

Sydney is picking some yummy 😋 raspberries to share with us !

We helped them clean up (vacuuming) their storage room . . . .

Helped Shea put together a puzzle . . . .

Had a Grilled Hot Dog  🌭 dinner with them

Went for a swing with Shea and Sydney and . . . .

needed some scuba gear so we could go swimming with . . . .

It looks like we will be putting all that scuba gear to good use in . . . .

  the Lansford's Aquarium too . . . . 

at least aquarium water is nice and warm 😉

Debbi took us on a hike up Cottonwood Canyon this afternoon

 after she finished working.

Beautiful snow-capped mountains  . . . .

lush green hillsides . . . .

Little waterfalls and streams along the way  and . . . .

Stopping for a much needed rest 😰,

hiking is hard on us "old" 👵 👴 guys !

 we decided it wasn't fair that you were having all the fun so . . . .

We made . . . .

A "Flat Kevin Waite Family" and . . . .

A "Flat Debbi" (2 different choices ! )

Let's see what kind of trouble we can get into with each of you !

Father's Day dinner needs to be made . . . . .

One of our favorites is Chicken Enchiladas so that is what it will be.  

With everyone looking on and giving their "expert" advice, 

mom was able to get them put together 

and ready to bake.

We are not sure if Deviled eggs go with enchiladas, 

but we had eggs that needed to be used, so . . . .

Once again, listening to all your "expert" advice, 

we now have . . . .

whole hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs with pickle relish and

 some without the pickles.

Went for a ride with Camrynn today . . . .

We are not sure where we are going, but judging by her smile, 

it must be somewhere FUN !!

Grandpa decided to do some pretty hard yard work today, 

transplanting several plants.

We're so glad all our yard work has inspired you to do 

some in your own front yard . . . .

Can't wait to come and see all the projects you have been working on.

Ended up at the Bountiful Temple 🛕

Tonight we had LOTS of company.  The first to arrive was Grandpa's brother,

 Uncle Dave, and then everyone else showed up . . . . 

the whole family 👪 !

The Lansfords, the M. Waites,

 the K. Waites and Debbi . . . . what a fun visit we all had !

Morgan would like us to "show up" at his house one of these days . . . .

Tonight we looked out the window and the sky seemed to be on fire, 

we grabbed Debbi so she could share it with us.

Grandpa, Grandma and Debbi kept an eye on it until . . . .

it turned even a more brilliant orange . . . .

 Amazing, don't you think so Debbi ?

After having to scold Minnie and a few others, 

this determined little girl got all her animals and "things" to stay put !

We're sure Flat Grandma and Grandpa must be in there somewhere

(hopefully she didn't have to scold us too)

It's been over 90 degrees 🌞 all week . . . .

It's that time of year when you just have to defrost your freezer.  

Grandpa was sure glad to have some help from . . . .

Matt's family !

With the temperatures near 90 degrees, 

it didn't take long to melt off all the built up ice.  

 It's always more fun to do a project 

with family !

And speaking of "projects" . . . . 

It was also fun having Debbi around to help Linda with some 

sewing projects . . . .

Hemming a pair of pants and . . . .

applying  a sparkly heart applique to a tee shirt.

The plan . . . . make four tee-shirt dresses , , , ,

in two days 😵

we did it . . . . all four dresses are done !

Now  the two big questions . . . . 

Will they fit and . . . .  will they like them 😧

Spending some time out on Lansfords new wood deck . . . . 

the only thing we are sure of is that this dog 🐶  is . . . .

 NOT Chase !

 A new grill is just the ticket for a new deck . . . . 

It must be time for a BBQ  !

Sometimes you just have to "hang out" with your favorite blanket . . . .

and people

It must be one of those days for Sienna . . . .

so glad she invited us to join her for some R & R.

Tucson, Arizona where we all enjoyed . . . .
