On Sunday, August 30th
We met with our Bishop and discussed
with him our desire to serve
another mission
He opened up an account for us
and we began the
process of completing the online
application.
We progressed through the checklist
including....
Personal Information
Mission Preferences
Financial ability
Medical Exams
Dental/Vision Exams
Renewing Driver's Licenses
Renewing Passports
Once everything was complete and
all the proper forms were filled out
We submitted our forms
It was on Matt's birthday....September 14th
Next we set up our final appointment with
our Bishop and ....
He submitted our forms to our Stake President
On September 16th
We had one more interview to do
with our Stake President....President Firmage
He submitted our forms to Salt Lake
on September 27th .... Sienna's Birthday.
Now we just had to WAIT !!
With General Conference the first week
in October we expected our
wait would be a little longer than
what was typical and we were right.
We planned on going to visit Trudi in
Davenport Iowa on
Monday, October 26th and had
great hopes of receiving our call before
we left but it was not to be.
Our Bishop informed us our call was issued on
October 16th however, we did not receive it
until we returned from Iowa on
Tuesday, November 3rd
We ended up waiting 38 days
to finally receive this ....
Big White Envelope in the mail.
On Tuesday evening
we went into Matt's house,
got Trudi, Kevin & Debbi on Skype and ....
Opened that much anticipated envelope.
It contained two letters
(one for each of us)
It's a good thing we were both called
to the same mission
(ha ha ha)
We were called to serve in the
Illinois Nauvoo Mission.
We will not report to the
Provo MTC until Monday, March 7th,
On Wednesday morning we were up at
4:45 a.m. and on our way to
southern California to
share the news with Linda's mother.
Once we did that we called all our siblings
we also called the mission office for
clarification of what was included
in our mission.
The Nauvoo Mission is just
Historic Nauvoo and Carthage Jail.
All the area around those two sites are in the
Iowa Des Moines Mission.
On Thursday we wrote and submitted our
acceptance letters.
We returned home on Saturday and on
Sunday, November 8th
they announced our call in Sacrament Meeting.
and
After church we put a post on Facebook.
We have so many wonderful friends that
have sent their congratulations
and expressed their excitement for us.
The mission office said in a couple of weeks
they would be sending
a packet with more specific information
about the mission and site clothing etc.
Now that we have our call and
know when and where we are going we can
begin getting "things" in order.

Wardrobe
Finance
Insurance
Immunizations
etc
etc
etc
March is going to be here before we know it !!!
