Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Like a lot of people around the country

we have been experiencing an unusually early 

winter storm.....

long before the 1st day of winter.

On Thursday (11/13) we woke up to a skiff of

powdery snow, but then it

continued snowing and didn't stop for about 36 hours!

Thursday morning Linda got busy and shoveled

the driveway which was covered in about 

3" of the beautiful white stuff.

Since Steve's surgeries he is not able to do

any shoveling, but....

he is well qualified to snap pictures of Linda.....

"Smile"

It was hard work but....

She finally got the double garage side done and the

sidewalk in front of the house.

ta da!

If she had only known what was on the way....

Enter....Friday morning

It snowed all night and we woke up to

another 5" covering Linda's nice clean driveway

Steve called our neighbor that has a snow-blower

and he was kind enough to let us 

borrow it for the morning.

Steve wanted to try it out so he did a couple

of passes and then Linda took over

and Steve kept the cord picked up 

and out of the way

for her

It worked pretty well and would have been even

better if the snow hadn't been quite as

deep and wet.

It was about 5" in the places Linda had previously shoveled,

but it was 8+ inches on the third garage side

that did't get shoveled on Thursday.

After about 2 hours we were almost done

and very tired.

when we finished we rested for a while then

went back out to do the sidewalk and

clean up the residual snow. 

by 4 p.m. it had stopped snowing and the

driveway looked Awesome!

The front walk was even starting to dry out.

Tonight it is supposed to get down into the teens

and there is freezing rain 

in the "morning commute" forecast.

A couple of days later we had some freezing fog

and the beauty of mother nature's artwork

was amazing.
