Christmas was over and the kids were having fun
playing with their new things.
The weather was still very cold, for Texas,
they even had some snow up near Dallas.
On Friday we all loaded up and went on a
"Road Trip" !
We were off to Dallas about 2 1/2 hours north
of Trudi's.
Trudi dropped Steve and I off at the Dallas Temple
then Trudi took the kids to McDonalds for
lunch and some well deserved play time after a long drive!
there was still some evidence of the snow on the
roof of the Temple
and they still had this nativity display in front of
the temple.
Our next stop was in Sherman, George's hometown,
which is another hour north of Dallas
We stopped by the house where George grew up and
where his father lived when he passed away just a year ago.
It reminded us of the nice visit we had with him
sitting on the side porch he built
Next we were off to the town of Bells and
another 1/2 hour or so north.
In Bells we visited George's grandmother.
Cora went right to her....
.Charlotte had to think about it....
& Wyatt... well, he went to sleep on the sofa
before we could get a picture of him.
It was a very long day, but the kids ALL went to sleep
on the way home so it was a quiet trip.
Another Sunday and another attempt to get a
group picture.
Monday was New Year's Eve
and we were preparing for a Happy New Year
celebration
But Charlotte hurt her arm and ended up
spending a couple of hours in the ER
with Trudi and Grandpa
After X-rays and trying to manipulate her elbow
they decided there must be a hairline fracture
and referred her to an orthopedic doctor.
The only problem was, with the holiday it would be
several days before they could see her.
We celebrated the New Year with party hats ....
horns ....
AND ....
Serpentine !!!
The next few days we just tried to have fun !
Charlotte singing, at the top of her lungs,
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
Cora in her new outfit
Charlotte's new outfit...
sitting on the kitchen island, she couldn't run away for this picture!
On Friday, Steve went home but Linda stayed for a few
more days to help Trudi until
Charlotte's Dr. Appointment, which turned out really well.
Her Elbow was out of place so the doctor manipulated it
and in just a few minutes it was back to normal!
Saturday Wyatt and Trudi made
Cake Pops for dessert
they were delicious and so much fun
Even Cora had fun just sitting in her high chair ...
Happy Girl!
On Monday it was back to school for Wyatt
While Wyatt was in school Charlotte got her jeep out and
began riding it down the hallway, when she felt a bump....
she turned around and saw Cora right on her tail ....
both the girls (and grandma) started laughing and
they had a fun game of chase!
On Tuesday Linda went home.
Somehow, through all the storm delays and cancellations,
she miraculously made all her flights
and arrived home safe and sound.
