Last week we left Star on
Wednesday morning and drove
to Brigham City, Utah
where we attended the new Temple Open House.
Next we drove on down to Springville
to visit Kevin, Lani and the boys.
One day we took the boys on a walk around
the neighborhood where we just
happened to spy a grasshopper.
Just after this picture the grasshopper
jumped and hit Crew right in the
face....he thought it was pretty funny!
Connor chased the poor little critter all
around then finally Steve got him
to hold it....
which was good fun....especially when it
hopped right out of his hand!
We also stopped off at the park on the
corner and let the boys swing a little...
and go down the slippery slide!
When we returned Kevin and Lani were
waiting for us.
There is a pasture right across the
street from their house
and the boys love to feed the horses
Connor found another little critter....
a cute, fuzzy, caterpillar!
One night we went to Denny's for dinner
After dinner the boys got to play in
game room...fun!
On Friday Connor got some new clothes
in the Mail
YEAH....they fit!
Saturday was the BIG Day.
There was a neighborhood birthday party
for the five little ones that
are turning 2 years old this fall.
and Crew just happens to be
one of the five!
It was quite the party....
There was a Castle
Bounce House
(can you see Steve & Kevin peaking in?)
the boys spent a LOT of time
bouncing around with their friends.
(they are wearing navy blue shirts and plaid shorts)
Crew with his hands down on the red
and Connor standing on the Blue.
Lani was in charge of the fishing pond....
they were actually fishing for ducks!
Crew didn't care about the ducks...
He just wanted to get in the pool!
There was lots of yummy, sugary
treats like....
popcorn, cotton candy and....
Snow Cones
(these are some of Connors Cousins)
There were cupcakes for everyone
and special cakes for the
Birthday kids.
One of the moms made balloon trees
and these cute...amazing...balloon clowns.
Crew helped himself to a cupcake
and proceeded to lick all
the frosting off but didn't eat any
of the cake.
(isn't that what 2 yr olds are supposed to do?)
Besides food and fishing there was
Face Painting, a photo booth and this
"knock the cans over" booth where
Kevin was in charge...
both Crew (above) and Connor (below)
gave it a try!
Connor also tried the
bean bag toss
At the end of the party we all
sang to the Birthday Kids
as they blew out their candles
Crew was very dramatic about the
whole thing...he just wanted his cake....
NOW!
He quickly got over it when his mom
asked..."do you want your cake?"
After the party We said goodbye
and headed for Salt Lake to
visit Debbi and see her new place.
She will share this place with
three other girlfriends.
Their place is the last one down
an alley with a nice
double garage.
This is the walkway that leads to
both her front door and
the backyard.
Debbi had a small "to do" list all ready
for us when we arrived.
After shopping for a few things...
and eating lunch at Cafe Rio...
this is what we did...
Built a shelf for her garage...
Fixed a bracket in her closet...
Installed a cabinet in the guest bath....
then put the towel ring that used to be there
in the Master Bathroom.
Fixed a broken slat in the
backyard fence...
and...
replaced the refrigerator light and
both bulbs in the hallway
ceiling fixture.
with no ladder Steve had to put a
chair (which I held) on top of the coffee table
in order to reach the fixture.
| this is taken from the front door.. .backyard on the right, kitchen, garage, bath & stairs on the left |
Her place has 3 levels.
a basement with a
bedroom, bath & family room.
Main level with
Living room, eating area, kitchen & 1/2 bath.
Upper level with
3 bedrooms, 2 baths & laundry room.
One more thing we did was trade cars.
So we got busy and took the
ski racks off Debbi's Jeep
then transferred all the other "stuff"
into the Bravada.
This was a very hard change for Debbi
but it was time....so with a tear
(maybe several tears) in her eye she said
goodbye to her faithful Jeep...
and hello to this Bravada.
with her "to do" list complete we
jumped in the Jeep and headed for home....
admiring this beautiful sunset
as we traveled....
arriving in Star at 12:15 a.m.
While on our trip we were also able to
visit Steve's Aunt Arline. She is doing well
and is always happy to see us and
sends her love to all the family.
We love traveling around the country visiting
different temples and spending time with
our children and grandchildren...
and this was no exception....we had a
wonderful time!
Great pictures! Looks like you had a great trip & everyone had fun... We can't wait for our turn to visit everyone!!
